Ah yes...the Pearl Street Mall...

Once on the 1200 block on a Saturday night, there were guitarists in every storefront...I remember tightrope walkers, magicians, puppeteers, tumblers, ragtime bands, belly dancers, fire eaters and blowers, living statues, Freddy's Hotdog stand, motocross bicyclers, trapeze acts, stilt walkers, drummers, jugglers, mimes, artists painting, didgeridoos, contortionists, street theater, clowns, tarot readers, balloon twisters, escape artists, sword swallowers, magnet people, story-tellers, protests, 30 guitarists on the courthouse lawn, movies being shot (and stoners stumbling thru the shots), panhandlers, the New York Deli (Mork ate there), Halloween with 25,000 revellers, performing then getting stopped by a very confused policewoman - I was laughing so hard, other people started laughing at her, too. :^)
