  I don't know a whole lot about PX, but the Renaissance Fair is happening in Apache Junction. It's too late for this year, but for next year you can audition to busk inside the event. It's a huge place and it is good to go there to see how the professional buskers do it. Get in touch with the arts councils up there and offer yourself to help promote their event.

  I just moved to Mesa, and seeing as this post is a little old you may have found the answers for yourself already. But regardless I'm being told that Mill Ave in Tempe is a good place to street perform. Especially on Friday and Saturday nights, it's frequented by a lot of college students and the streets are packed.
  
  Atleast, his is what I'm being told.
  I plan on checking it out for myself this weekend.

  I dont live there anymore and im not sure what the laws are but I always had good lunch on Mill Ave. in Tempe and in Copper Square in downtown Phoenix
