Re: microphones
Sun, September 21, 2008 - 12:10 PMthat is why I didn't go with the cute cubes and crates
I went with Anchor
they have built in wireless receivers and totally battery and very long life and fast charge.
Jerry down in front of In and Out has a good system. I would check his out if I were you.
Other than that there are some high end systems with a wireless headset even ( built in transmitter too) -

Tue, September 23, 2008 - 6:59 AMJerry is running an old pignose, works fine for having a wall to reflect off nearby. Otherwise a little light (10-15w) for big shows.
I run with a crate limo (50w) and a sennheizer camcorder mic.
Both are battery powered, and the crate can charge off your car's port with the included adapter.
I wouldn't use a mic/amp combo unit personally. One craps out and your whole system goes down.
Next year when the VHF band that TV has run in gets sold to cell phone users, there may be interference issues with wireless mics.
I got a sennheiser years ago because it isn't chipped to a set frequency but can be digitally tuned to find an open channel.
Shure makes a good mic that has no beltpack, great for escape artists and hula hoopers (Dizzy hips got one).
It has a small battery pack on the back of your head.
Audio technica makes a good mic too, but avoid Nady... they suck.
I had one, it crapped out, I replaced the transmitter from the HQ in Berkeley after much hassle, and it crapped out too.

Note: your wireless system may soon become illegal!
Sun, November 9, 2008 - 8:47 PMNew regulations regarding the HDTV spectrum, affects the 700Mhz band. If you're currently an owner of a Shure, Sennheizer, or Audio Technica system, y may be eligible to turn in your old system for a new one outside the 700mhz band.
