So, for the entire time I have been performing, I've been doing a gold fan-spinning/living statue act- hold a pose, have a sign saying "see the statue dance! Only $2," do my bit of dancing for a minute or so, strike another pose. All in all, absolutely no speaking.
I have recently branched out in my repertoire a bit and would like to start putting together a non-miming act, but I've found that when it comes to verbally drawing a pre-performance crowd, I'm stumped. I'm so used to relying on movements, expressions, physical imitations to draw people in, but that will only work up to a certain point for a circle act. I need to learn to be a talker, and fast.
Any tips?
